How to Connect Lovense Toys to a Mac Computer?

I’ve talked a lot about how to connect your Lovense toys to your desktop or laptop computers, but it’s been very Windows-centric. 

So, what about for Mac fans? Is there any difference? Let’s find out!

First, I’ll start with the setup, and then I’ll discuss some common connection issues that you might encounter and how to fix them..

The Appeal of Connecting Lovense Toys to Your Mac

The appeal is the same as it is for Windows users: you want to make extra money camming. 

If you connect your Lovense toys to your Mac, you can use them as incentives to have your fans tip more. 

In addition, you can also control your toys via your Mac for a private session with a lover, be it short or long distance. 

And honestly, connecting your toys to Mac is fairly easy. If you’ve tried Windows, you may discover that it’s even easier! 

Setting Up Your Lovense Account and Mac Environment 

Okay, so let’s get started! All you need is a Lovense toy, a Mac, and a good internet connection. 

Then, follow this quick and easy guide!

Step 1: Creating Your Lovense Account

Go to Lovense, either via an app or their site, and create an account. Email, password, verification, you know the rest. 

And if you have bought a Lovense toy, you probably have an account already. If you don’t, though, what are you doing? 

Make one now!

Quick Note: Understanding Mac System Requirements for Lovense Connect

You don’t need anything fancy to run the Connect app. I would recommend that your Mac is up-to-date, and it has at least 4GB of RAM. 

You don’t need the latest Mac, but I wouldn’t recommend using one from the ‘90s to try streaming, as cool as that would be.

Also, ensure you have a broadband connection of at least 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload speeds. 

Step 2: Downloading and Installing the Lovense Connect App

Go to Lovense’s site and download the Connect App for Mac. Then, begin the installation process. 

Simple enough, right? Well, if you have issues, read the next paragraph. 

Depending on your settings, you may get a message that says the app can’t be opened because it comes from an unidentified developer. 

If you see that, it’s an easy fix. 

Go to System Preferences > Security and Privacy. Then, at the bottom, you’ll see a lock icon with the message “Click the lock to make changes.” 

Do that, enter your username and password in a pop-up window, then click “unlock.”

You’ll now be in the Security and Privacy settings. At the bottom, you’ll see “Allow apps downloaded from:”

If you have issues, then chances are, “Mac App Store” was selected. Choose “Anywhere,” then try again.

Step 3: Connecting Your Lovense Toy(s) to Your Mac: Step-by-Step

It’s pretty easy! I can tell you in three steps!

1. Be sure that your Lovense toy is charged and in pairing mode. Most toys will have a button you can hold down. The toy will vibrate once, then light up. The toy is now in pairing mode. 
2. Open the Lovense Connect App and select “Add Toy(s)”
3. You should see the toy you’re trying to connect. Be sure your Mac’s Bluetooth is turned on. Click, and voila. 

And there you go! The toy is connected. 

Step 4: Sync Lovense Cam Extension

Now, you need to download the Lovense Browser if you haven’t done so already. Same old story. 

Ensure that you have permissions to use apps downloaded from anywhere, then download it. 

You may need to drag the Browser into your applications and install a Flash extension, but that is simple.

You should now have the Lovense Browser in your Macbook launcher. At the top right of the browser, there will be an orange Extension icon to the right of the URL bar. 

Click it. Log in, and you should be directed to the setup wizard page. If you have followed the previous steps, press “Mac Lovense Connect.”

Now, both worlds will collide as the extension looks for and adds your toys. Now, you can choose what sites you want to connect to, create tip goals, and so on. 

I would recommend you know your worth and give your fans plenty of bang for their buck. Literally, in this case. 

The more tokens, the harder and longer the vibrations. Simple enough!

What About the USB Dongle?

Lovense has a Bluetooth USB dongle, and it’s pretty important in many situations. However, the dongle itself is meant for Windows computers. 

This does not apply to Mac users.

The Mac’s built-in Bluetooth is all that you need. One less expense you need to worry about is always good, right?

Personally, I find Macs much more user-friendly than Windows. 

That isn’t to say that Windows is rocket science, but you don’t have to play around with Chrome, nor do you need to buy any special dongles.

If you have a relatively new Mac, that is all you need. 

Troubleshooting Common Mac-Specific Lovense Connection Issues

While Mac connectivity is simple, some issues may come up. Here are some common problems that may arise.

Lovense Connect App Not Recognizing Toys on Mac

If your Connect App isn’t recognizing your toy, make sure that it’s turned on and in pairing mode. 

Also, be sure your Mac’s Bluetooth is turned on. 

All of this seems so obvious, but you would be surprised how easy it is to turn something off and forget about it. You may also need to restart both devices. 

Browser Extension Conflicts or Malfunctions on Mac

Be sure that your toy isn’t paired with another device when trying to pair it to the browser. Once again, check to ensure that everything is turned on and that there are no obstructions.

General Fixes: Restarting Devices and Ensuring a Stable Internet Connection

I know, “Have you tried turning it off and on again?” is a trite answer, but it’s like that for one simple reason: it works. 

I don’t know why, but it does. 

Also, your internet connection needs to be stable. If your Mac is far away from the router or the connection is slow, you’re bound to run into problems. 

So be sure you have a strong connection, or use an Ethernet cable. 

Ensuring Privacy and Security Settings on Your Mac

Your Mac’s privacy and security settings are there to protect you from suspicious applications. 

Unfortunately, a lot of useful apps get caught in the crossfire, especially for sex work! 

Because Lovense’s apps are new and are for adults, Macs won’t let you use them. 

Be sure that the settings enable you to download and use any applications. 

Exploring the Lovense Community for Additional Resources and Support

Finally, if you need help, it doesn’t hurt to turn to the Lovense customer support network. 

Asking a customer service agent may help you resolve the problem or help you discover that the problem isn’t just you, but the entire network. 

They also have many resources you can look at. If you are still having issues, you can turn to online forums, such as Subreddits, to help you determine the cause.
