Lovense Gush 2 Review – Is This Hands-Free Male Masturbator Worth It?

Lovense is back with a brand new toy, the Gush 2. Okay, it debuted in January, so it’s not brand new, but it’s new to me, dammit! 

And my boyfriend and I were very interested in this one!

Lovense is known for their vibrators and butt plugs, but they’re less well-known for toys meant for the male genitals. 

As I always said, there is no shame in a man using a sex toy to enhance their masturbation session. 

So we wanted to try out the Gush 2 and decide if it’s worth the admission price. As you know, Lovense does have a hefty price tag for some people. 

What is the Lovense Gush 2? How Does it Differ From the Gush 1?

The Lovense Gush 2 is a male masturbator with smart features. By male masturbator, we’re talking less like a Fleshlight and more like a wrap for your penis. 

The masturbator is hands-free, can be adjusted via an app, and syncs to adult videos. Whether you want to blow a load, edge, or train your stamina, the Gush 2 will make it work!

If you already have a Gush 1 or are curious about the differences between the original and its successor, the Gush 2 has the following upgrades:

• Adjustable straps for a better fit. 
• Slightly longer than the Gush 1.
• A quieter motor.
• The power button has been moved for a more ergonomic reach. 
• New oscillating patterns for penis training. 

That being said, the Gush 2 has some downgrades as well, including:

• Battery life and charging time are slightly worse. The Gush 1 has up to 120 minutes of battery life and 65 minutes of charging time. The Gush 2 has 110 minutes and 75 minutes to charge. 
• The Gush 2 is slightly heavier at 133 grams vs. 195. However, some people may like it heavier. 

In our opinion, the Gush 2 is definitely better than the Gush 1. However, if you do have a Gush 1 or need a budget-friendly option, the upgrade isn’t mandatory. 

What Are the Main Benefits of the Lovense Gush 2? 

The Gush 2 comes with several benefits, including:

Hands-Free Usage

You don’t need to use your hands to get off! The Gush 2 has an upgraded adjustable band, which is perfect when your hands are a little full. 

Ergonomically Designed

The power button is right at the top of the toy, so it’s simple to reach out and press it when you’re done or when you want to turn it on. 

The button also helps you cycle between pre-set patterns.

Besides that, the toy is designed to fit snugly yet comfortably around your most delicate part. 

Bluetooth Features

Like most Lovense products, the Gush 2 connects to the Lovense Remote app. This app lets you control your toys over short or long distances. 

You can also connect the app to a compatible adult video, and your Gush 2 will vibrate in sync with the action.

Manual Features As Well

Don’t have a phone? Is your phone dead? Don’t want to use your phone? Don’t sweat it! There are seven preset vibrations and patterns to choose from. 

I get it; having limitless options on your phone is great and all, but sometimes you just want to keep it simple. 

Targeted Oscillations

This male masturbator has new oscillations designed to hit your most sensitive spots. Combined with its vibrations, there are over 4,300 a minute. 

As I always say, I want to be the person in charge of counting!

These movements are way more powerful than the Gush 1, which was already pretty strong. 

Quiet

At higher speeds and intensities, you may hear a hum. However, at normal speeds, the vibrator is whisper-quiet.

Soft and Flexible

The Gush 2 is made from flexible materials that wrap around your most delicate part easily. 

Its flexibility also means that it will fit most penis sizes, whether you’re packing heat or packing a smaller, yet powerful, missile. 

Perhaps its best-illustrated feature is its open-ended wings, and like any good pair of wings, they will help you fly off to Orgasm Land.

IPX7 Waterproof

The Gush 2 is fully waterproof. If you want to have a little fun in the bath or shower, the toy can handle that. 

Plus, it’s easy to clean if you gush in the Gush, if you get what I mean. 

A Fair Price

Another advantage of the Gush 2 is that it’s reasonably priced. Okay, the toy isn’t super cheap, but it’s in the mid-range compared to some of Lovense’s offerings, such as the Solace. 

The Gush 2 Pros and Cons

The Gush 2 has plenty of things going for it, but nothing is perfect. 

Pros

• The Gush 2 has powerful new oscillating sensations designed to help you edge, train your stamina, or reach orgasm faster. 
• Plenty of new and customizable patterns. 
• Whisper-quiet operations for discreet masturbators. 
• The new strap makes the toy an easy fit for most sizes. 
• Battery life is competent. 
• Waterproof. 

Cons

• Battery life and charging time are slightly worse than the Gush 1.
• Costs a little more than the Gush 1. 
• Limited when you’re not using the app. 
• If you own the Gush 1 and are satisfied with it, its minimal improvements may make you want to wait for the Gush 3. 

How Much Noise Does the Lovense Gush 2 Make?

One concern people have with any vibrating toy is its noise level. 

Some can be as loud as a jackhammer, which can not only be annoying to hear but can also ruin discreet play or play when you live with someone else. 

Luckily, the Lovense Gush 2 doesn’t have that problem. 

The Lovense Gush 2 makes it under 50db, which is as loud as moderate rainfall. The higher the intensity, the louder it will be. 

In our experience, it gets whisper-quiet with moderate settings. It’s a very discreet toy!

How To Use The Lovense Gush 2

First, be sure the Gush 2 is fully charged. Your toy may only be partially charged out of the box, so use the magnetic USB cord to give it a full charge. 

While it’s charging, you may want to download and set up the Lovense Remote app, if you haven’t done so already. 

To pair your toy, press and hold the on/off button until you feel a vibration. Then, click the link icon in the app to pair it. You can play around with its remote settings there. 

The Gush 2 also includes an adjustable strap. Make sure the Gush 2 is on your or your partner’s penis tightly, but not so tightly that it causes you or them to feel uncomfortable. 

When you’re done, clean it with mild soap and warm water, let it dry, and store it in a cool, dry place. 

The Gush 2, like most Lovense products, comes with a storage pouch. I highly recommend that you store the Gush 2 in its velvet bag.

How to Clean The Gush 2 

Sex toys can get a little messy, which can be sexy in the moment, but then gross when you feel that post-nut clarity coming in. 

For your safety, and just to be a clean human being, you should always clean your Gush 2 whenever possible. 

Cleaning the Gush 2 is a breeze. Since the masturbator is made from waterproof silicone, all you need to do is use some mild soap and warm water before and after every use, at the very least. 

Alternatively, you may use an antibacterial toy cleaner. Before you store it, be sure the Gush 2 is fully dried. 

What Was My Experience Using It?

Or rather, what was our experience using it, since this is my boyfriend’s toy?

Well, setting up Lovense products has become second nature, so connecting the Gush 2 to the app and charging it was simple enough. 

How did the Gush 2 feel, however?

Well, he says it felt great. We experimented with all the different patterns and even tried to edge a little. 

My sadistic side came out a little bit as I denied him cumming until I was satisfied. 

Though, in some cases, I turned up the power a little too much and made him come instantly. And he is usually pretty good with his stamina. 

Overall, we give it high marks. If we had any complaints, it’s that the toy can require some tinkering to get right. 

You or your partner may need to adjust to a higher or lower intensity, sometimes multiple times during one session. And that can be a bit of a hassle. 

However, that did not significantly alter our opinion about it. 

What Do The Customer Reviews Say?

Most of the reviewers seem to like the product, but there aren’t too many reviews out now. I want to focus on two areas: Lovense’s site itself and Amazon.

Lovense’s Site

Currently, the toy has gotten 3.9 out of 5 stars. This rating seems mixed, but there are only seven reviews. All it takes is one negative review to knock the score down significantly. 

And two of the reviews are critical. 

People mostly love how powerful and easy to use the product is. Our sentiments are shared in these reviews. 

Some people have mild criticisms, such as saying the toy could be stronger, but still give it four stars. 

There are two critical reviews here. One is three stars and is in Spanish. 

Translated, it says, “It does the job well but not 100% autonomous.” I suppose this reviewer is saying that the product truly isn’t hands-free, and is probably referring to app control? I’m not sure. 

The lone 1-star review says that the “vibrations aren’t very strong and often pinches.” Pinches? I get that some penises are hard to please, but I don’t understand how it could pinch. 

Amazon

On Amazon, reviews of the Gush 2 are a little more critical, sitting at 3.3 stars out of 23 reviews. 

I have noticed that on Amazon, sex toys in general have the harshest reviewers. For example, I’ll absolutely love a product and then go on Amazon and see it’s rated 2 stars. 

Again, the positive reviews are from people who feel the Gush 2 did its job, delivering amazing sensations and incredible orgasms. “

Works for growers and showers alike,” says one review. The review also claims that this is the only hands-free toy to give them an orgasm.

But the negative reviews say something different. One reviewer says the toy won’t stay on unless you are 5 inches flaccid. Seems a bit hyperbolic, but I get that the toy won’t fit everyone, and it can be incredibly frustrating when that happens. 

“ Only works for those who don’t even last 1 minute. This feels no different than having your phone vibrate in your pocket,” writes another.

Again, this feels hyperbolic, but the message is clear. The toy isn’t pleasing them! 

I had a great time with the Lovense Gush 2 and feel it’s a well-made product. But every male’s genitalia is so different. 

Lovense does try to make each version of their product better than the last to please as many people as possible. 

If you feel like you’re average, it will probably please you. 

But if you have something different, like you’re too big, small, or don’t get off so easily, I’d give the Gush 2 a cautious recommendation, or at least wait till the Gush 3. 

What Are Some Other Alternatives to The Gush 2?

The Gush 2 gets our seal of approval. But maybe you’re shopping around for the right male masturbator for you or your partner. 

Let’s look at several other premium male masturbators. 

Max 2

This is another Lovense product. Unlike the Gush 2, which wraps around your penis, this toy is more of a traditional, Fleshlight-like male masturbator. 

It comes with a textured or neutral sleeve, contracts just like a vagina, and also connects to the Lovense Remote app. 

That being said, the Max 2 may not be for you if you don’t like the hard outer shell of Fleshlight-like toys, and would rather have something wrap around you like the Gush 2 does.

That being said, an advanced sex toy means that the toy is going to be expensive. 

It’s double the price of the Gush 2. For many, this price is worth it, but if you’re on a short budget, you may want to stick to the Gush 2.

The Gush 1

Finally, an alternative to the Gush 2 may be the Gush 1. As mentioned, the Gush 2 makes several improvements on the original Gush, but the Gush 1 is still a great product. 

It has a couple of advantages over the Gush 2, such as slightly better battery life and weighing less. Not only that, but the Gush 1 is less expensive, making it perfect if you’re on a budget. 

The only disadvantage is that the Gush 1 is now outdated technology. While it still holds out on its own, you may feel like you’re missing a lot when the Gush 3 comes out.
