Lovense Mission 2 vs Lapis – Which One is Better For You?

Today, we are once again pitting two Lovense sex toy juggernauts against each other.

In one corner, we have the Lovense Mission 2, a suction cup vibrator that’s smarter than a straight-A student at Harvard.

And in the other corner, we have the Lovense Lapis, a strapon without any straps. It’s an enigma that’s very worth exploring.

Which is better? Which is the best toy for your needs?

That’s what I’m here to help you with!

What is the Lovense Mission 2?

The Lovense Mission 2 is a suction cup Bluetooth vibrator with 180-degree rotation.

In other words, the dildo gives you the ultimate hands-free experience. It’s also touch-sensitive.

The deeper you thrust, the stronger the vibrations will be.

You can read my full review of the Lovense Mission 2 here.

What is the Lovense Lapis?

The Lovense Lapis is a Bluetooth strapless strap-on dildo. One side of the dildo is inserted inside the user’s vagina, and the other goes inside the receiver.

This vibrating dildo can be controlled by the Lovense Remote app, leading to plenty of possibilities.

You can read my full review of the Lovense Lapis here.

How Does the Lovense Mission 2 Compare to the Lovense Lapis?

It’s a bit like comparing apples and oranges, as each serves a different purpose.

But we’re doing it, anyway!

I am going to examine several features and compare them.

Mission 2 vs Lapis –  Comfort and Fit

The Mission 2 has a skinnier shaft than the Lapis, measuring 1.46” in diameter, as opposed to 1.61”.

However, neither dildo is oversized nor too small. The Mission 2 has an adjustable suction cup arm, which, in my experience, stayed in position.

Meanwhile, the Lapis has a bulb that is a great fit, but being a strapless strapon, it’s not perfect.

Sometimes, it will slip out. And your mileage may vary depending on your vagina. For that reason, I’m giving it to the Mission 2.

Winner: Mission 2

Mission 2 vs Lapis –  Shape and Design

Both toys have a similar shaft, being red, silicone, and ribbed in some areas. Where they differ is beyond the shaft.

The Mission 2 has a suction cup and an adjustable arm that lets you rotate the dildo

Meanwhile, the Lapis has a clitoral bulb designed for insertion on the giver’s side.

No winner here, as they both serve unique purposes.

Winner: Tie

Mission 2 vs Lapis –  Motor and Vibration Levels

Both toys utilize the Lovense remote app, allowing for endless combinations. However, the Lapis has three motors as opposed to the Mission 2’s one.

It makes sense that the Lapis would have more. It has one for the clitoral bulb, one for the outer arm, and one for the shaft.

That being said, Mission 2 boasts Touch-Sense, which adjusts based on your movements.

This tech adds a new level of play that the Lapis cannot reach. Because of that, I will give Mission 2 the W.

Winner: Mission 2

Mission 2 vs Lapis – Noise Levels

No one likes a loud dildo. Well, maybe there’s some, but if you’re trying to be discreet, you sure don’t!

The noise levels of the Mission 2 range from 35 to 62 dB. At its quietest, it’s a whisper, and at its loudest, like a normal conversation.

The Lapis, meanwhile, ranges from 28 to 56 dB. A little louder than leaves rustling, with its loudest being like moderate rainfall.

Both are quiet, but the Lapis is a little quieter.

Winner: Lapis

Mission 2 vs Lapis –  Bluetooth Connectivity

Both the Mission 2 and Lapis use the same encrypted Bluetooth connection. I couldn’t figure out if both use the same generation of Bluetooth, but I assume so.

Both connect to your device without any problems. I’ve had fewer hiccups than back in the day.

I remember the early age of Bluetooth accessories, and I wish I had forgotten.

Winner: Tie

Mission 2 vs Lapis –  Charging and Battery Life

Battery life is always an estimation, as it can greatly depend on vibration intensity and other settings.

So, when I mention minutes, I’m talking about the maximum possible battery life.

The Mission 2 has up to 230 minutes, or 3 hours and 50 minutes of good time. To charge, you only need 82 minutes.

The Lapis’s battery life is much shorter at 156 minutes, or a little above 2.5 hours. To charge, you need 105 minutes. I think we have a winner.

Winner: Mission 2

Mission 2 vs Lapis –  Packaging

Here’s another case where both are the same. Both toys are shipped in a discreet brown box

Inside that brown box is the toy box, which will contain the toy, a magnetic USB charger, a storage bag, and a manual.

Winner: Tie

Mission 2 vs Lapis – Pricing & Value

Lovense toys aren’t cheap, as they’re made from high-quality materials and contain Bluetooth features.

Both are currently the same price: $129, a discount from their initial $259.

That being said, every time I visit a Lovense product, it’s always “on sale,” so I think this is just a marketing gimmick to give you FOMO.

So yeah, this one is a tie, as both are the same price, and what gives the most value depends on your needs.

The Mission 2 does have that touch-sensitivity, but it doesn’t have the two-partner thing going on like the Lapis does.

Winner: Tie

Mission 2 vs Lapis – Inclusiveness and Accessibility

The Mission 2 is more versatile in its inclusion. Regardless of who you are or what your genitals are, you can have some fun with it.

I suppose if you have difficulty walking, you may have less use out of it, but that’s about it.

Meanwhile, the Lapis is meant for a couple. Lesbian, queer, trans, and FTM couples will have a good time, along with hetero couples curious about pegging.

The giver needs a vagaina, however.

But if you are, say, FTM, wearing this toy can feel quite empowering! That being said, you can be a disabled receiver and have a good time with it as long as the giver is able-bodied.

Winner: Tie

Reviews and Testimonials For Mission 2

I can say a lot about this toy, but what do the customer reviews say? With these reviews, I tend to look at both Lovense’s site and Amazon.

Currently, the Mission 2 has a 4.9 out of 5-star rating based on 16 reviews.  “I can only give you 5 stars. Thank you for being in my life for so many years! I love you and always recommend you!” writes one reviewer. Now that’s poetry.

Star Rating zero up to five

However, this toy came out last year. So I guess they’re talking about the brand itself.

The most critical review on the Lovense site is still 4 out of 5 stars. “I would love it if this toy had more strength and could be controlled differently by my members.

Solo use is great, but control via link or tipping feels a bit awkward,” the reviewer writes. Maybe an update can fix this person’s grievance.

On Amazon, reviews are more critical at 3.5 stars from 12 reviewers. But reading the reviews, it’s a vocal minority of people who got duds. “Worked for less than a week.

Amazon says it’s not returnable. Don’t fall for this scam,” writes one reviewer. Lovense has a warranty, but I guess reading the fine print is a bit too hard for them.

Reviews and Testimonials for Lapis

On Lovense’s site, the Lapis has 4.8 stars out of 6 reviews. So, it’s not a big pool, but it gives us an idea. “The wife and girlfriend can’t get enough,” writes one reviewer.

Well, hopefully he’s getting some, too.

And like the Mission 2, even the most critical review is four stars. “My only critique is that I wish the clit stim had more of a soft cushion, as longer, harder sessions can often bruise my pubic bone slightly,” writes one reviewer.

Again, your mileage may vary depending on what’s down there.

Same story with Amazon, with a grumpier 3.4-star rating out of just six reviews. Though this time, the negative reviews aren’t because they got lemons.

Both negative reviews talk about the lack of bend the product has.

“I feel like this toy is made by males and not by the ones that would actually use it…,” writes one.

“literally so terrible. It’s so uncomfortable to use, and it’s honestly painful. There’s no way to actually bend it when it’s inside you unless you want excruciating pain.

It’s quite literally unfunctional and might be the worst purchase I’ve ever made,” writes another.

Tough crowd, huh?

But I get it; this toy is made for a more specific body type. Perhaps the Lapis 2 will be more adjustable and fit more body types.

Who is The Mission 2 Best Suited For?

The Mission 2 is best suited for solo play. If you want a toy you can mount on the wall, floor, or even the ceiling if you’re creative enough, then there you go.

Couples can get enjoyment out of it as well, as the toy has a removable suction cup.

Who is The Lapis Best Suited For?

The Lapis is suited for couples where the topper has a vagina.

This toy does lean LGBTQ as a result, but straight, cisgender couples who want to explore their sexuality can have some fun with it, too.

The Winner

The Mission 2 does have more positives, including better battery life, comfort, and slightly better customer reception.

So I declare it to be the winner. But that being said, both are entirely different toys.

If you want a strap-on dildo, you’ll pick the Lapis over the Mission. If you want a smart suction cup dildo, the Mission 2 wins.

As long as you have the budget and both appeal to you, why not both?
